'Am doing OK. I got married in my mid-thirties, first child at age 40, so I'm a little late on the parenting... coulda been a grandpa by now, I guess. Not that it matters much now, but my youth, right up till finding myself in the Marine Corps at age 17, were the worst years of my life. There's something to be said for dying of old age. I hope we all get that far.

I work all the time, but love to read when at home and am an avid dancer (country), although I really just like to dance...period.  I enjoy spending time with my grandson, who is 15 and my granddaughter, who is 4 years old. 

I have recently reconnected with a long lost brother and am enjoying the reunion and getting reacquainted with each other.

I have enjoyed writing the PLog and working with Gerry and Dale on getting the 35th reunion together.  I hope they'll "volunteer" to help with the 40th! :)  I'm looking forward to it!!!

Hi everyone! I live in Olympia WA with my husband of 16 years, Randy. I have 3 sons, Randy has 2 sons, and combined we have 4 grandkids. I worked in banking for 30 years until I got burned out and decided I needed to do something I actually enjoy, while I still have the energy. I opened a drive-thru espresso business (coffee is BIG in the northwest), and am loving every minute of it. Looking forward to seeing everyone and thanks to all who have worked hard to make this a great reunion!

The "now" picture is from our 30th anniversary trip to Hawaii back in 2004. Robyn (the former Robyn McNeal, class of 72) and I have been married for 31 years. We've been here in Sacramento since 1983. I'm still a bit nervous about attending the reunion, but it will be nice to see you all again.

I taught at Wheatland High school until the 73-74 school year.  Even though I was pregnant with my daughter, I "bravely" managed to teach four classes up until the end of November.  Our daughter Melynie was born January 20, 1974.  I never returned to full-time teaching.
In 1978 I began a whole new career--newspaper reporting.  I worked at three different local newspapers on a part-time basis until 1982 when a friend suggested I try out home teaching. 
I was able to combine both careers for quite awhile.  Even ended up at Wheatland High School where I home taught.  Most of my students were from Lindhurst High School or Marysville High School, however.
The most traumatic thing for me was when we had the school shootings at Lindhurst.  I home taught two of the victims who were in the same room where the teacher was killed.  It was hard for all of us but we got through it.
I ended up teaching at a charter school in Marysville and retired in 2002.  I am still writing for a local newspaper.  However, my reporting days are over.
My husband Roger retired from Cal-Trans in 2003.  Our daughter lives in Austin, Texas and works for Sherwin-Williams.
My current interests include volunteering at our Yuba City museum. knitting prayer shawls for my church and writing a monthly feature for the Territorial Dispatch. 
By the way, I co-authored a book about Yuba City  It was published in July and we are very proud of it.  Yuba City is celebrating its centennial this year and the book was a major part of the year-long festivities.
That's about all I can recall to bring you up to date.  Of course, there was some traveling during those years but nothing too spectacular.

UPDATE (9/08) I am currently engaged to a nice Brit living in Sweden!  
Yes, I do still live in Wheatland. I finally grew up and became a teacher. I work with at-risk Teenagers, try to get them graduated. My grandmother at 95 lives in the big red house on Second St in front, and I live in the house in the back, on First; my daughter and her new husband live next door, and my mom still lives down the street. everything stays the same, and everything changes. Love to hear from everybody
